The Feast of Dionysus as The Last Supper
The controversial scene at the opening ceremony, filled with drag queens, androgynous individuals, and the pagan ‘god’ of debauchery was clearly mocking Leonardo da Vinci's depiction of the Last Supper. When Christians noticed the sacrilegious ceremony, the liberal response included faux education in history, gaslighting, and denial.
It was clear to anyone viewing the ceremony that it looked like the famous painting of the Last Supper. The fauxpology of the organizers began with the assertion that the scene “more closely matches Jan Harmensz van Biljert's The Feast of the Gods.” Furthermore, they claimed this simply celebrated the pagan origin of the Olympic games. In turn, all the useful liberal idiots lectured Christians about the pagan roots of the Olympics as if we were unaware that ancient Greece was pagan. Other useful idiots disparagingly claimed the ceremony had nothing to do with the Italian painter, seemingly unaware that the Last Supper transcends Leonardo da Vinci's painting.
Of course we all know that ancient Greece was pagan in the pre-Christian world. They were unaware of the Hebrew Bible and knew nothing of Christ. All that changed with the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. This historical event is the center of history. The Apostle Paul preached in Athens as described in Acts 17:16–34 and the entire nation would eventually convert. Thus there is a huge difference between pre-Christian paganism and the post-Christian apostasy we are witnessing today. Even if we conceded that the ceremony had nothing to do with the Last Supper, this would not make the opening ceremony much better. Worshipping, venerating, or celebrating a false god is gravely evil. A feast of a false god is a feast of a demon1 . Nevertheless, Barbara Butch, who was at the center of the table wearing a halo-style crown, confirmed that the opening ceremony was a sacrilegious mockery of the Last Supper.
Many Christians and conservatives like to point out the fact that the principalities of this world do not mock Islam, Muhammad, Buddhism, or Buddha, but will constantly mock Jesus Christ and His Church. The reason for this is clear. Satan and his minions know that Jesus Christ is Lord and that the body of Christ is His Church. The spirit of Satan hates Truth, Goodness, and Beauty, which is the essential nature of the One True God. The Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life. What we witnessed was a representation of a feast of a false god masquerading as the Last Supper. Now we have the drag queen performers admitting it.
